Windows 7 SP1 ISO Genuine & Untouched

     Now that Windows 7 is the most common OS that a tech will encounter, it is very useful to have the installation disk when repairs are needed or to do clean installs for customers or to your PC.

     The problem is that most machines come with the installation files on a separate partition on the hard drive and it has all the useless software that came pre-installed with it.

     So a need to have the installation disks is a must. Here are the direct download links to the Genuine and Untouched ISO images of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. These images are hosted on Digital River, an official channel partner where end-users download their installation files when they have purchased a legal license, so downloading them is completely legal.

    Keep in mind that since these are Genuine and Untouched images they will require a legal license to activate them. If a license is not used then Windows 7 will only run as an evaluation copy for up to 30 days.

Microsoft Office 2010 Direct Download Links

 Recently I posted the direct download links to Microsoft Office 2007 for when the need arises but more and more people are starting to use Microsoft Office 2010 so setup files are something that every tech on the field should have on a USB drive just in case. Similar steps are done with these links as well, download the file and run. Before the installation you will be asked to input your LEGAL license key to proceed with the installation. Note that these are all English version, for other languages comment the version desire and I will post it.

 One of the worst situations is when you are in a clients home and you need to re-install office 2007 only to have the client say "I think I lost it". Well here are some direct links to the full standalone setup installer for Microsoft Office 2007 suites and a few of it's applications. These setup installers will install a legal version of office 2007 so you will need your license key to install the software, these setup files don't give you the 60-day trail. If you need to re-install a client's version of office and they don't have their key then before you uninstall make sure you download a keyfinder to get that license key. How to Speed Up Your PC

Many many places provide guides on how to clean up computers and to make them faster. This is a method that I personally use and it's used by technicians on the field to get clients' computers up and running in as little time as possible. The items are shown in order so just download each one, install it and run the applications (note that all these programs are free). I hope that this will provide much help and if you have any questions feel free to comment.


1) CCleaner - A system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner.

 2) Malwarebytes - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect, just make sure it's up to date. Do a Full system scan with this program. The quick scan option works well but once in a while it will fail to find some things that the full scan will.

3) SuperAntiSpyware - A very good program that removes spyware, trojans, worms...etc. It does similar work as Malwarebytes but here and there it picks up a few things that Malwarebytes left behind so I recommend it being used after using Malwarebytes. Just make sure it's up to date and that a full system scan is done as well.

4) Defraggler - A Disk Defragmentation tool that does a great job. Just run this last and then restart your system and your PC should be in good shape.

Password Manager

    Today you need to remember many passwords. You need a password for the Windows logon, your e-mail account, your bank account login, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem. Here's how it works: you set one master password which opens your KeePass password database. Once you're in, enter and retrieve usernames and passwords (with optional URL and notes) for various login services (ie, Amazon.com, PayPal, Ebay). KeePass can suggest hard-to-guess random passwords as you set up new login accounts, and it's small enough to save on a thumb drive so you can take your passwords with you. Because no one has your KeePass master password, it's very difficult for someone to open the database if your thumb drive or laptop is lost or stolen.
